Fine Art Appraisal offers the following services:
- Consultation: There is no charge for the initial phone conversation (or meeting, if local). We will figure out what you need and how best to proceed.
- Specialization: Our area of expertise is modern art, post-war art, and specifically Harry Bertoia art. We have access to all databases for Harry Bertoia artworks, as well as most other modern art.
- Formal Appraisal: Once we determine your appraisal needs, we will choose the appropriate type of value (fair market value, replacement value, orderly liquidation value, market cash value, etc.) and do the necessary research. Fees are based on an hourly rate of $100/hour.
- Market consultation: If your desire is to sell some or all of your artwork, we can advise you as to the most appropriate market (auction, gallery, EBay, Craigslist, Estate Sale, etc.) and refer you to the appropriate dealers, sites, or auction. Fees are based on an hourly rate of $100/hour.
NOTE: In your search for the right appraiser you may find that fees vary widely according to location, experience, accreditation and affiliation. Currently there are no laws governing the licensing of fine art appraisers. Anyone can call themselves an art appraiser and many do. An ASA-accredited appraiser assures you the best valuation expertise on the market, because ASA-accredited appraisers bring experience, knowledge of the market, and solid reputation to the job’s practice and ethics. Fine Art Appraisal professionals are fully accredited by ASA (a multi-year process) and will provide the highest quality work.
